[Once upon a time ]The Lord of The Ring Slash

VOL. III

Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas and the warriors of Gondor felt the out-numbered enemies were too strong to defend. The number is decreasing. Gandalf, without the stuff, could not pour his greatest power to defend the dark side.

While battling one side, on the other side, Frodo came to the realization of the lies beneath the Gollum. Disregarding his pain on his broken finger, Frodo feared no more and rushed to Gollum fighting for the ring. Finally Frodo used his even most strength to pull Gollum aside.

Gollum, looking at his precious, did not notice his dangerous situation in abyss.

The ring, at last fell into melting in the lava of Mountain Doom, within a few seconds. It melted and scattered.

Noticing the changing of Sauron’s power, the Orcs run apart. The destroy of the ring soon made all the dark side disappeared in seconds, without leaving any buildings there.

“Frodo, you have fulfilled your task.” Gandalf smiled to the other side.

Aragorn and Legolas felt relaxed.

On that day, Aragorn was authorized as the king of Gondor, the lord of the human. All cities fell into great happy atmosphere.

When seated on the king’s throne, Aragorn first gave Gandalf the white the title of prime Minister.

“Eowyn will be the Commander of the Minister and Eowyn will be in the vice.” The two nominated replied the lord with a bow. Eowyn’s nomination surprised to most people present.

“Lord!” Faramir rushed out of the line.

“Please forgive my rudeness, but you cannot give a woman a big burden.”

“Faramir. ”

“Yes, Lord.”

“I think you are wise enough. After all I saw Eowyn’s heroic behavior in battle and arrangement. I think she is a brave woman with calm mind and careful sense. The army need such a person who can well admistrate and train the recruit and bring them hope, whoever he is a man or a woman.

“But Lo..” Aragorn’s eye contact made Faramir turn to silence.

“Faramir, for the king’s safety, you are ordered as my bodyguard.” To most people’s surprise again, the bodyguard was Faramir rather than Legolas.

After nominated and ordered the commands in hall, Faramir soon went to Aragorn’s side.
“Why me? ” Faramir asked dubiously.

“As an elf, Legolas doesn’t serve human unless all allies face the same danger. Also, the elf would rather help than serve. And the hobbits, they should go back where they once lived. Also it is improper for Dwarf to take the task. Among the men, you are the best one.”

“And Eowyn. ” Faramir added.

“Yes. I trust you.”

“Yes, my lord.” Faramir saluted.

“Call me Aragorn, only except the occasions.”

“Lord──”

“Aragorn.”

“Yes, Lo… Oh no, Aragorn.”

“Good.”

It was really boring while guarding the king. Faramir had to keep listening whom the lord met with and watching out. Also, while present in occasion, he could not take activity freely but stood to keep his lord in eyes.

Aragorn prepared to marry with Arwen in the coming week. Finally he did not break the lie. Faramir felt happy to the couple. Aragorn knew what he should do next step, so he could not break his promise to Arwen, though he felt disappointed to his betray to Arwen and love to Faramir.

“Faramir.”

“Yes, Aragorn. ”

“What is your precious thing, now?”

Unexpectedly thinking about Aragorn’s bizarre question, Faramir blushed. He could not help but smile. Seeing that Faramir’s great joy on face, Aragorn felt he had lost hope.

“Eowyn. We want to marry next month.”

Aragorn trembled. The water in cup splashed off, which Faramir did not notice.

“Congratulation! What do you want on that day?”

“Oh, my lord. Best wish is enough to us. We only want to marry in a simple way and it won’t take much time.”

Aragorn thought over. “I will give you one day break. Oh no. Three days, for your preparation.” He said in a flat tone with a bittersweet feeling.

“Faramir…” Aragorn could not help touching his curved hair.

Faramir only saw his lord looking at him with unusual way. He had to keep still, waiting for Aragorn’s next word.

“I want to tell you…” The coming of Arwen broke their conversation. Arwen only saw her lover talking with Faramir with serious face. Arwen could not read the two’s thinking, since she drop the chance- immortal life- an elf’s right.

It was why Aragorn choose the same day as Faramir to get married with his utter beloved once before-Arwen.

Their relationship remained the king and the bodyguard. Aragorn had never talk about the unfinished words that night neither was Faramir. When the king family got a baby, they need more bodyguard, so Faramir quited the king’s bodyguard and held the bodyguard group to guard the king’s family.

I want to tell you once I love you. It was the words that deeply hidden in Aragorn’s mind.

The combination of the man and the elf is a big step in the new era, though Arwen was not an elf any more. Aragorn was still happy to see Arwen’s joy and happiness. He thought it would be the best end for all the people.

The battle began.

Sauron’s armies, ten thousand, or even more, trooped toward to Gondor- the White Tower.

Hearing about that Faramir and his army were sent to the way to the dead hell, Aragorn rushed into the palace and darted to the regent and king of Gondor, the father of Faramir.
“You are doing foolish thing. Faramir can’t survive in this way.”

Coldly looking at Aragorn, Ondoher did not reply and went on his fleshy fruit. All red fruit seemed the bloody dead end of Faramir.

“You damn a father!” Seeing that Ondoher have no response, Aragorn pulled his sword and tended to threaten the foolish father.

However, all what he was doing was in vain.

His father did not take any action.

Outside, the wizen white foresaw the tragedy and heartbroken end of the father and the son.

Sauron won again. The king Ondoher’s mind was filled with Sauron’s evil idea.

The doom seemed turn to the dark side.

Faramir’s body was hauled by his warrior horse.

He was dead.

His father cried with grief. It seemed real, but it was a lie in Aragorn’s eyes.

“He’s still alive!” Noticed Faramir’s weak breath, Pippi cried out to other people, but the king remained crying.

“Faramir! ” Aragorn moved away the crowd and knelt down in front of Faramir.

“Doctors! He needs doctors!” Aragorn burst out his loudest voice.

“Move them away.” The cool-hearted king ordered.

Looking desperately at Faramir’s injured body. Aragorn and Pippin had no choice but to be taken away.

“You shall deserve the curse.” Throwing the last words to the stubborn king, Aragorn showed his anger that their companions had never seen.

They threw themselves into the great battle. The limited numbers defended the great numbers of Sauron’s army-Orc, more than ten thousands. Too strong to defend, the bottom of the White Tower soon fell into enemies’ hands.

On the other side, Aragorn, the heir of the Ishilder, the king of Gondor, successfully summoned the dead, agreeing to set them free after winning Sauron’s armies.

“──Gandalf”

“They want to burn Faramir alive!”

Realizing the danger situation of Faramir, though tired in battle, Aragorn hesitated no more one second and jumped on his horse and darted to the White Tower.

“Faramir! ” Hardly pushing the door, Aragorn only saw the old mad man preparing to lit the fire.

“No!” The voice echoed in the corridor.

The old man soon lit the firewood in a hurry when seeing Aragorn’s appearance.

“You fool man!” Gandalf aside rushed to the old man and hit the man with his stuff. The king rolled off and crawled on the marble floor.

Not giving up his hope, the king Ondoher was still holding his fire and throwing his fire to the wood without hesitance.

Gandalf at last was offended. He pulled the lighting wood to the man. Soon the king was burnt alive and running outside.

Aragorn flew to Faramir surrounded by the fire. He jumped and quickly picked him up into a safe place.

“Faramir!” Waking the man in arms, Aragorn burst out his emotion-worry, suffering and a little hope.

“Doctors!” Pippin aside soon cried out to the soldiers. The soldiers without king’s permission did not know what to do next.

“Run!” A powerful voice and more authoritative word made the soldiers soon follow the order.

“You did it.” Pippin looked at Aragorn with an admirable feeling.

“Good Hobbit. You are doing right thing.”

“Oh, Faramir’s waking up!” Pippin’s eyes extended, speaking in an exciting tone.

“Faramir.” Aragorn softly looked at him, “Welcome back.”

The lying one was too weak to utter a word. Aragorn made his finger on Faramir’s mouth, suggesting him not to speak. Then Faramir fell into coma again.

“He needs a rest.” Legolas said.

“Oh, he’s wakening up. Thank God.” Gandalf moved toward Aragorn and his companions.
“The battle here was finished. Let’s wait for Frodo’s news. God will bless him.”

“He’ll be OK there.” Though saying in a positive tone, Aragorn still worried about the two little strong honest Hobbits, especially Frodo.

Frodo fails, the world is end.

Frodo’s success or not shall lead to the booming or collapse of the man world.
Concerning the situation, Aragorn put forward a suggestion of invading to the Mordor with his army. Even dangerous as it was, Gandalf thought it was the only best time for Frodo’s secretly avoiding Sauron’s evil eye.

“Lord, please let me join in.” Faramir pulled his weak body, speaking to Aragorn with a strong will after knowing the allies preparing for the battle in Mordor.

“Faramir, you don’t need to join in. neither is Eowyn.” Aragorn, the lord, ordered without emotion.

Fearing the rules and the authority, Faramir stepped back.

Even though he was not a lord right now, Faramir feared the power came from Aragorn for he had won prestige among the Gondor armies and his companions. He did not know the standing one was the future lord of Gondor, the heir of Isildur, who defeated Sauron and destroyed his army three thousand years ago.

“Faramir.” Aragorn soft said. “Wait for our back.”

“No. Sauron’s army is too strong for you. It is far beyond your imagination. You will lose your life there. I won’t let our trustable allies to take such a risk. You still have time.”

“Frodo will sacrifice if we don’t.”

Both of them went to silence.

“Faramir, I am the heir of Isildur.” Aragorn went on talking without regarding of Faramir’s surprise. “Only I make a trick in Mordor can Sauron take notice of me rather than Frodo. This will save Frodo some times.”

Faramir remained silent, staring at the outside.

It was nigh outside. Hope the sun will arise tomorrow. Faramir thought.

No battle, no war, no death. Faramir mumbled.

“Faramir. ” Aragorn’s calling for his name made Faramir soon awake.

“I have to leave now.”

Realizing that he was in ponder, Faramir gave Aragorn a deep hug. “God will bless you with my best regard.” Faramir felt the hands grabbing his back tightened up.

“Aragorn? ” Faramir tended to turn head to his side, but a big hand covered Faramir’s head, wishing him not to look at Aragorn.

“I will miss you.” Faramir only heard the gloomy tone with a bit sad feeling.

Both of them did not say any more.

Indeed, Faramir does not understand my heart. Aragorn talked to himself.　The most blood-soaked battle broke out, repeating the battle among the just and the evil 3000 years ago. Sauron feared of Aragorn, but he had the dominance of deciding Aragorn’s beloved-Arwen’s death. Arwen’s life was reduced second by second. It was Aragorn’s most fearful time to foresee Arwen’s death through the prophesy and saw the gift elf falling broken after declaring war to Sauron.

Aragorn did not want to fail Arwen’s great wish, even though the feeling to Faramir was stronger than before.

He saw his future king, or the lord of the human, Aragorn, when he came to know the reason why his brother sacrificed in their troop to Mordor, as the nine people helped Frodo-the ring keeper on his unexpected and hard way to the Mountain Doom.

A sense of powerless was filled in Faramir’s mind. He would rather take the risky task and die honorably, instead of his respectful brother; even this deed may not receive his father’s re-realization of his younger son.

“Thank you, Aragorn.” Faramir slightly bowed and stepped away, leaving without any more words.

To memorialize his companion, Aragorn replied Faramir with same gesture. At that time, he saw the dim helplessness in Faramir’s pure blue eyes.

Staring at Faramir’s back, Aragorn fell into ponder. It evoked his deepest memory-his beloved woman-Arwen.

“A poor man, isn’t it?” The appearance of Legolas broke Aragorn’s thinking.

“Yes.” Aragorn sighed.

“That he should deserve fails in result.” Legolas spoke seriously.

“You take a pity to him?” Aragorn turned round, curiously looking at his trustable friend Elf Legolas.

“Don’t you have the same feeling?” Legolas firmly looked at him. “Aragorn, I know what you are thinking about. But, do not take any more burdens.”

Yes, Faramir’s only reliable one was his brother-Boromir. Without him, Faramir would not have happy days in his place. It was his brother who gave him a strong willing and spirit. Aragorn came to know Faramir’s experience through reading his mind, even his memory was not clear to Aragorn.

“May I come in?”

“Sure.” Faramir did not notice who entered. He was busy figuring out the distance between Mordor, Gondor and his battle field. There seemed no few days for Sauron’s armies attacking to his field.

“Jacob, give me that map.”

“What can I do for you?”

Suddenly turning his head, Faramir would never think about Aragorn’s informal visit.

“Bother your time?” Aragorn smiled.

“It’s ok. So have you got problems?”

“Nothing. I’d like to help you.”

“You?” Faramir forced a smile. “I don’t think a man with an elf and a dwarf and two hobbits can demonstrate themselves in the battle. The number of the army is still limited. Sauron’s army is far too strong for us and their weapons are more threatening than the previous battles.”

“Well, the king Theoden of Rohan will help us.”

“No, the regent and king of Gondor won’t receive the generous help.” Stood up, facing Aragorn, Faramir’s tone heightened.

“Your father.”

“Yes.” Uttering the angry and suffering words, Faramir did not say any more.

A silence lasted for seconds, but it seemed hours were past away.

“Faramir, I understand your pain and sorrow. I am sorry that the king of Gondor would never realize his son’s excellence.”

“I hope the fact is that I died.” Faramir said in a gloomy feeling including anger.

“Faramir! ” Aragorn looked at the forsaken warrior, the son whose father shall never understand his sacrifice.

Faramir choked with sobs, but he did not want to show his weakness to the stranger, even though Aragorn was his brother’s companion.

A warn sense came around his body. Aragorn gave him a big hug and left a kiss on his hair to try to temper his mood.

“Ara...”

“Hush!” Aragorn took a firm embracing, which gave Faramir a sense of being protected.
Faramir felt his mind was brought to his deepest memory-the happiest time in childhood, where he played with his brother-Boromir. His father seated in grass, watched happily his two sons playing the fighting. Of course, Boromir, stronger than Faramir, always won his younger brother. Faramir bore the same appearance of his mother, so he looked more feminine. However it turned out that Faramir’s characteristic was masculine. So, Boromir liked his pretty young brother and taught him a lot.

When thinking about the changing attitude of his father, Faramir close his eyes painly.

He is tired.

It was a long time that Faramir fell asleep in Aragorn’s hug.

Aragorn put him on bed softly.

Having compassion for him, Aragorn could not help kissing the sleeping one’s forehead.

“He needs time.” Legolas always appeared to Aragorn in an unnoticed way.

“Aragorn, do not waste time on this man. After all he is the only heir of the king of Gondor.” Legolas hinted.

“I know.”

“Gandalf shall persuade the regent of Gondor. I think it is time that you should go to Gondor.” Firmly looking at the future king, Legolas requested. “Do not care more about Faramir’s status.”

Aragorn nodded, but he realized that he can not move his feeling to Faramir from his heart.

Legolas gave him a dubious look, but said no more.
